The article presents the reconciliation mechanisms that are found within the culture of the Atoni people of Timor Leste. These culturally distinct people live spread across two countries: Indonesia and Timor Leste and preserve their family ties beyond geographic borders. The aim is, at first, to describe the geographical, historical, sociocultural aspects, customs, livelihood economy of the Atoni People, then deal with conflict processes and mechanisms to resolve conflicts through the use of the term tatek tua boitles nok insunan and, finally, reflect on the concept of reconciliation in the Christian tradition and in the Atoni People. The research has an essentially bibliographic character and uses different theoretical references. The Atoni People have their own identity and the symbol of peace and reconciliation is represented through the "tua boitles nok in sunan". This symbol expresses a spiritual value, that is, mutual respect and respect as God's creation. Despite the modernization process, the Atoni People keep their tradition alive and the spirituality of reconciliation is the fruit of the union of many hearts that meet in a single heartbeat that leads to a new attitude towards life.
